Abstract

Impact printer means are known wherein each character-bearing petal of the print wheel or daisy wheel has a V-shaped projection at its rear which mates with a V-shaped groove in the impacting missile or hammer to insure that the missile appropriately captures the print wheel petal. Fig. 1 shows a typical structure wherein missile 10 has a notch 11 which mates with a corresponding projection 12 at the rear of petal 13 when missile 10 moves in the direction shown by the arrow to strike petal 13 through ribbon 14 against paper 15 on platen 16.
