In a continuous or "Sweet"-type ink jet printer, it is necessary that a stream of droplets be generated at an operating frequency regularly spaced and free of drop satellites. Illustrated is a scheme for adjusting the voltage on a piezoelectric crystal within the ink jet head to perturbate the ink supply cavity to produce the desired stream of satellite free droplets.
