Abstract

Unique I/O device addresses are assigned under program control. The computer system of Fig. 1 includes a main storage processor 10 connected to main storage 20, a control store processor 30 connected to main storage processor 10 and to control storage 40, and processor to processor interfaces 50, 100 and 200, with I/O controller 300 connected to processor to processor interface 50, where I/O controller 300 connects to storage 400 and to I/O adapters 500 which in turn connect to I/O devices 600.
