Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Laser Enhanced Cutting Burnishing
This machine technique extends the life of cutting and burnishing tools, and
facilitates cutting and burnishing of materials that are difficult to machine.
A laser and tool holder are mounted together so that they will traverse a work
piece in unison. The laser beam is precisely focused just ahead of the tool to
assist in the deformation and plastic flow of the material to be machined.
During a cutting operation, the material is softened, thereby facilitating cutting
by the tool. For a burnishing operation, materials that would typically be brittle
and chip or bind are softened, permitting the burnishing tool to smear the surface
to an ultra-fine finish. In both cases, tool life is thereby extended.
