In a telephone network a calling station may be an automatic station trying to deliver to a receiving station a message recorded in a recording system at the calling station. The receiving station, on being told by the calling station that there is a recorded message for transmission, will need to provide to the calling station the correct password. On receipt of the correct password, the calling station will transmit the recorded message and will note that the message has been correctly transmitted.
