Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Backspace for Dual Pitch Escapement
The disclosed mechanism is a simplified backspace device to accommodate
a dual pitch escapement system.
An arbor 26 is formed on the end of pinion 28. A clutch spring 24 rides on
the small diameter of arbor 28 and is enclosed in housing 22. The housing 22
rides on the large diameter of arbor 26 and the end of pivot stud 18. One end of
the clutch spring 24 is retained by the housing 22.
The spring 24 rotates the housing 22 in the escapement direction, bringing
the free end 20 of the clutch spring 24 in contact with the stop 23, causing the
clutch spring 24 to unwind and allow the pinion 28 and ratchets 32 and 34 to
rotate freely. When link 29 rotates the housing 22 in the backspace direction, the
clutch spring 24 binds on arbor 26 and rotates the ratchets 32 and 34.
The amount of rotation of the ratchets 32 and 34 is determined by the length
of stroke of link 29 and the position of stop 31.
Spring 36 returns the housing 22 and clutch spring 24 to the home position.
