In the field of ink jet print head technology, it has been recognized that there is a need to place a filter close to the nozzle entrance to break up agglomerates which accumulate during shut-down periods. This reduces misdirection during the start-up time. By means of filtration, agglomerates are broken up. In addition, this effect will be accelerated if only a small volume of ink is present beyond or ahead of the last filter.
