One useful configuration of a CCD (charge-coupled device) register is a loop where the last position in the register wraps around to the first position of the register. To maintain the data refreshed in the CCD register, the data must be continuously circulated around the loop within a prescribed amount of time. Shown in Fig. 1 is apparatus for accessing two tracks in a CCD loop with logic operating at a slower rate than the clocking rate used to circulate data in the CCD loop.
