This design uses a flexible carrier or substrate to carry printed circuit wiring between printed circuit card positions. The flexible circuit is attached to small pinned printed circuit segments (epoxy resin base) that serve as the male portion of the connector at the top of each card site. The circuit pattern may be etched, deposited, or a combination thereof on the flexible carrier to accommodate various and intermixed card pitches. Sufficient slack in the flexible circuit, between card positions, may be allowed to easily extract or disconnect one position at a time without disturbing adjacent connectors.
