In most manufactured printwheels, the petal section and the hub section are generally not flat with themselves and each other. This leads to a high manufacturing scrap rate. In addition, undesired lateral vibration when start-stopping the rotation of the printwheel, as well as in-out vibration at the end of a print cycle, generally occur. Also, an overshoot of the active petal at the end of its return stroke during a print cycle may cause it to interfere with the hammer when the next rotation sequence begins.
