Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Instrument for Measuring Copier Illumination Intensity
The intensity of the illuminated footprint on a copier's document glass is
accurately measured in the field, without opening the copier, by indexing a
sensor across the glass.
In a copier, the document glass is scanned by a footprint of light moving in
direction A. The light intensities of points along the foot-print set at the factory
are subject to disturbance by aging and other factors. It is necessary for service
personnel to determine whether the current intensities remain within a range of
A scale and slider are placed on the document glass and connected to a
meter. When a photosensor mounted under the slider is exposed to a portion of
the footprint, the meter indicates a value related to the light intensity relative to a
standard intensity. The slider is repositioned, in direction B, in between
successive footprint scans to give a series of meter readings. The scale carries
numbers relating the meter readings to acceptable readings.
