Copier impulse emitters, which synchronize electronic with mechanical operation, must operate reliably despite heavy contamination by optically dense, magnetically attracted and electrically charged particles. Hall-effect sensors, such as Honeywell's Type 3AV miniature vane operated solid-state position sensors, may be used for this purpose.
