Abstract

Shown above is charge electrode chip 10 for multi-nozzle ink jet head 12 (schematically represented). Holder 14 for the charge electrode chip 10 contains vacuum chamber 16. Chamber 16 is an open channel on the face of holder 14 so that when holder 14 is abutted against the nozzle plate of ink jet head 12, chamber 16 will be formed. The chamber 16 is connected to a vacuum via tube 18 in holder 14. Electrical signals are connected to charge electrode chip 10 via flat cable 20.
