The present structure provides a motor-actuated matrix print head assembly wherein the selected matrix wires are actuated by a motor driven cam assembly while an electromagnetic assembly only serves to select the wires to be actuated. This is in marked contrast to conventional wire matrix assemblies in which the wires are both selected and driven by the electromagnetic assembly. This, of course, requires high powered electromagnetic assemblies.
