Peak Detected Signals to NRZ Converter

In the processing of signals, particularly readback signals from a magnetic recording apparatus, the readback signal to be processed is threshold detected. When alternating types of waveforms are employed, a succession of alternating peaks will be provided. It is desired to convert such succession of peaks to an NRZ (non-return to zero) waveform in a high speed, reliable manner. Also, successive positive peaks and successive negative peaks should result in the rejection of the second occurring like polarity peak. The NRZ output should be synchronized with the input data waveform, i.e., with the clock derived from a read back signal. Further, the delay from the signal comparator output should be minimal, i.e., equal to no more than one logic block of delay.
