When plug 2 is inserted into socket 1, spring arms 3 with latch noses 4, which are arranged on both sides of plug 2, are forced apart in such a manner that latch noses 4 engage behind recess 5 after plug 1 has been fully inserted (Fig. 1). Unlatching is effected by pressing lever 6 which is pivotable about axis 8 on plug 2 in the direction of arrow A1 and provided with inclined arms 7 acting in the direction of arrow A2 on an inclined portion of latch noses 4. During this, spring arms 3 are spread open in the direction of arrow A3, unlatching plug 2.
