This search box also supports the look-up of an IP.com Digital Signature (also referred to as Fingerprint); enter the 72-, 48-, or 32-character code to retrieve details of the associated file or submission.
Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Substrate Connector assembly for Thermal Printhead
This assembly provides a means for mounting a thermal printhead to a heat
sink with accommodation for connection to contacts which energize the individual
Heat sink 1 is fabricated from a suitable material having good thermal
conductivity. Connector block 2 is made of an insulating material and includes a
plurality of spring contacts 3 connected to terminal pins 4. A thermal printhead 5
(such as Texas Instruments' EPN5200) has a plurality of lands 6 which make
connection to the individual print elements 7 and allow it to be plugged in to
connector block 2. Cover clamp 8, made of molded plastic material, bears
against printhead 5 to hold the region of the print elements 7 in good thermal
contact with heat sink 1. It also serves to protect the region of lands 6 and spring
contacts 3 from contaminants which could adversely affect the electrical
continuity between thermal pins 4 and the print elements 7.
Cover clamp 8 stresses the printhead 5 to prevent warpage due to heat.
Connection to pins 4 is made by soldering to lands (not shown) on a circuit
