It is known to employ a large plurality of flexible co-rotating storage disks as a data storage apparatus. In general, such devices employ air drawn through a tubular shaft and then expelled radially outwardly between the closely spaced record storage disks as a stabilization factor for the disks. A transducer is suitably mounted on the radially extending head arm carried by a head carriage for insertion into the stack only after an axially enlarged opening is provided along the circumferential edge of the stack.
