Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

System For Obtaining Display Attributes
Two standard off-the-shelf display controllers are utilized in tandem in order
to provide a required number of attributes for word processing display purposes.
Standard display controllers, taken alone, do not support the level of function
required for word processing. However, they are used extensively in data
processing applications, and are therefore inexpensive and simple to use. These
controllers are generally characterized as having 24-line by 80-character and
limited attribute capabilities.
By using two standard 7-bit controllers in parallel, a 14-bit data path is
provided. Eight bits are used to describe each character, and as such, a 256-
character set is realized. This leaves 6 bits per character to describe its
The six attribute bits are to define font, cursor, underscore, reverse video,
subscript, and superscript. A combination of subscript and superscript indicates
In the drawing, the single digit numbers represent bus bits. Controllers 10
and 11 are loaded in parallel with character/attribute pairs from a data bus under
DMA (direct memory access) control from a system memory. Controller 10 is
latched and connected to a video modifier and a character generator. Controller
11 is latched and connected to the character generator.
