This search box also supports the look-up of an IP.com Digital Signature (also referred to as Fingerprint); enter the 72-, 48-, or 32-character code to retrieve details of the associated file or submission.
Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Register Bit Manipulation of IBM System/370 Instruction
Two new IBM System/370 instructions using the RS format are defined to
permit the setting/resetting of a specified number of bits in a general purpose
The content of a general purpose register identified by the 4-bit B2 field is
added to the 12-bit D2 displacement value of the new "Clear Bits Register" or
"Set Bits Register" instructions. The resulting value is not used as an address,
but rather, the 6 low-order bits are used as a count value. This value determines
the number of low-order bits in a general purpose register, identified by the 4-bit
R1 field, to be set to 0's or 1's, respectively.
These instructions permit rounding of values that previously required shift
instructions, and can be used to clear or set an entire register to 0's or 1's by
specifying a count of 32.
