Display with Partitioned Slow Scroll
Original Publication Date: 1980-Sep-01
Included in the Prior Art Database: 2005-Feb-13
Display 4 is divided vertically into several partitions 1, 2, and 3. At the command from an operator on a line 5, the data in a selected partition 2 is slowly scrolled upward. In slow scrolling, the display is periodically shifted up one horizontal raster line so that the image rolls vertically. These shifts are made during the vertical retrace interval so that each frame has a predetermined form. The period between shifts can be selected by the operator or by an associated program to control the scroll speed. New data can be entered at the bottom of the screen.
