Micro-instructions are executed in sub-cycles (time interval Ti = T0, T1 ... etc.); within these sub-cycles, the data transfer, such as the latching of results in registers, is controlled by short clock pulses which normally occur in the middle of each sub-cycle Ti. A corresponding time diagram is shown in Fig. 1.
