LED Driver Output Level Control Via Reflected Light Signal Sensing

The driver output level control is obtained by sensing, via a sensor at the driving end of a fiber-optic communication link, the level of the reflected light from the receiving end of the fiber-optic cable, and controlling the LED (light-emitting diode) driver by feedback in accordance therewith. The driver is controlled to drive the LED at the minimum level necessary to overcome the fiber-optic losses.
