Abstract

The basic system, as shown in Fig. 1 comprises a cable-driven transporter 1 that is used for transferring a product between process tanks 3. Each tank has a separate lift mechanism which removes the product from the transporter and immerses it into the process tank. After the product has been transferred from the transporter to a lift mechanism, the transporter moves to the next process station while the lift mechanism is inserting the product into the tank. The mechanism agitates the product while it is in tank, and then removes it after the desired process time. While the lift mechanism is removing the product from a process tank, the transporter moves to that same lift mechanism for pick up. The lift mechanism then transfers the product back to the transporter for transport to the next tank.
