Non-impact printers employing lasers or other light sources for producing images on record media are known. Serial printers of this sort normally involve apparatus to move either the light-producing mechanism or the record media to effect the necessary scanning action of the print point along the print line. The device shown above avoids this need by using a lens arrangement and a flexible optical fiber bundle to conduct the image-forming light from a fixed light source to the moving print point.
