A sheet inverter roller in the exit path of an automatic cut sheet feed/delivery attachment for a printer or the like is provided with slots in which the leading edge of a printed sheet is clamped. The roller rotates 180 degrees to invert the sheet for stacking in an output hopper. If substantially all of a sheet has been printed, it sometimes happens that the column strength of the sheet is so lessened that proper inversion fails to occur. To eliminate this problem, the inverter roller is provided with plastic strips in the clamping slots so that a strip travels around the inverter roller with a sheet and assures proper placement of the sheet in the output hopper.
