In facsimile machines, printing presses, xerographic copiers, etc., there is need to securely and tightly clamp a sheet on a drum for spinning and printing. A gripping mechanism is which all parts for both leading and trailing-edge clamping are mounted in one assembly is shown in Fig. 1. This assembly can be mounted singly or in any practical number across the width of a printing drum, as shown in Fig. 2.
