Edge Restraint Mechanism for Sheet Transporting Device

Fluttering of edges of sheets being transported transverse to their lengths is prevented by a low tension, low friction additional transport belt. A typical environment for the mechanism is the dual vacuum belt paper transport shown in the IBM Technical Disclosure Bulletin 21 4776 4779 (May 1979). Belt 21 shown in the drawing is correspondingly numbered on the vacuum sheet transport in the aforementioned May 1979 article.
