This article describes an arrangement in which pallets can be stored. Pairs of belts 1,2 and 3,4 are guided around pulleys 5,6;7,8 and 9,10; 11,12, respectively. The pulleys are rotatably mounted to frames 13,14 and 15,16, respectively, which in turn are mounted to the frame 17 of a conveyor 18 for pallets 19. The pairs of belts 1,2 and 3,4 are provided with elongated holders 20 into which a pallet 19 transported on the conveyor 18 can be inserted. The figure shows a pallet 19 inserted into the lowest pair of holders 20 but still resting on the conveyor 18. The pulleys are clamped in the position shown in the figure by clamping means 23,24 comprising hydraulic means 25,26. Below the pallet 19 is a lift mechanism 21 comprising hydraulic means 22, which when actuated pushes the pallet aloft.
