Numerous electronic products comprise multiple electronic circuit cards mounted on support brackets within the machine case or covers. The cards may be interconnected by wires, cables or connectors themselves. Normally, numerous mounting bracket posts and associated fasteners and connecting cables greatly complicate the assembly process and increase the number of parts in the finished product. The problem is further complicated when cards must be mounted in a vertically stacked arrangement with one card over another. This article describes the use of stepped and tapered hard support posts that are integrally molded with the bottom cover of the case or housing for the cards. Each circuit card is then provided with mating holes with the holes in one circuit card having larger diameter than those of a second and so forth.
