Method to Provide Bit Boundary Block Transfer (Bitblt) Routine for the RT-PC 6154 Advanced Color Graphics Display

A method is described to create bitblt routine to provide full color support on the RT-PC 6154 Advanced Color Graphics display. Available bitblt routines only provided support for the IBM RT-PC monochrome graphics displays and two color support on the RT-PC 6154 color display. These routines were designed to work with bitmaps of data consisting of a single bit of data per pixel value. The RT-PC 6154 color display is designed to work with data consisting of four bits per pixel which allows it to simultaneously display 16 colors from a total range of 64 colors. This new method consists of generating a bitblt routine specifically for the 6154 color display, which can process images containing up to 4 bits of data per pixel. This is done by requiring the data to be stored in a format similar to that used on the 6154 display.
