Original Publication Date: 1988-Feb-01
Included in the Prior Art Database: 2005-Feb-14
There is no on-line information about currently-active sessions in communication systems employing PC. In accordance with the new method, the "Display APPC Detail Session Data" menu panel has the following fields listed: Local unit (LU) name, Partner LU name, Mode Name, Session ID, Type of session, Session status, Active conversation ID, DCL type, ALS name, Type of connection and Active TP name. The user may now look up who is communicating with his system. He may also note the current information on one particular LU, Partner LU, Mode and Session ID. This enables the performance and configuration of the system to be changed by use of the Subsystem Management. The panel shown in the figure is displayed as the result of the user choice of an Application Program PC (APPC) session type on the Display Session List panel.
