Abstract

Present PC communication systems give the user only the ability to use one data link and one data link controller at a time. The user has to restart the system each time he wishes to use another data link. In accordance with the new method, the Subsystem Management has the ability to activate/deactivate control each data link and controller. The menu system gives the user a list of the possible controllers for the system. The performance and configuration of the system can be controlled by changing the current data link controller. (Image Omitted) The Data Link Control Operations Panel is shown in Fig. 1. This panel is displayed as the result of the user choice of Data link control services from the Subsystem Management main panel.
