PC based communication systems at present do not allow the operator to deactivate an Application Program PC (APPC) Transaction program except within the communication protocol on the sessions. This prevents interactive changes to the system for realtime performance considerations. In accordance with the new method, the Subsystem Management main menu calls the APPC Transaction Program Operations menu. The APPC Transaction Program Operations menu gives the user the ability to display all active transaction programs or deactivate any or all of the transaction programs currently active. The Transaction Program Deactivate panel is shown in the figure. This panel is displayed as the result of the user select of Deactivate program on the APPC transaction program operations panel.
