Abstract

The specification of objects (text, audio, graphics, image, bar code, tabular resources, pages, overlays, segments, etc.) within the scope of a Document Content Architecture (DCA) resource group permits these objects to be transmitted as part of the data stream and to be subsequently referenced by either a DCA INCLUDE structured field or by an Object local reference (e.g., a set font embedded text control). Resource Groups are also used to pass any resource type between products without the document composition overhead associated with DCA presentation revision documents. (Image Omitted) Resource groups can appear in a Document, Page, Data Object, or Overlay. Names of Object types (e.g., DATA OBJECTS, FONTS, OVERLAYS, etc.) need be unique only if the creator or processor of a DCA data stream requires it.
