Figs. A and B illustrate a circuit diagram of a low-cost multiple output power supply with transient control at turn-on, with over- voltage, short circuit protection and low ripple. This power supply uses the well-known SG3524B control module in a fly-back configuration with FET Q5 and transformer T1 to make the supply. This configuration is not unique. However, to meet the design criteria of +5 volts (V) @ 1.0 A + 5%, 2 V @ .5 A + 13%, + 12 V @ 100 LOW-COST POWER SUPPLY - Continued MA 10 %, -12 V @ 100 MA 10%, -5 V @ .05 A 10% under all load, ripple and transient conditions are unique. Other features include transient control of +5 V @ turn-on, short circuit protection on +5 volts because it is customer accessible via the font connector, and overvoltage protection on +26 volts.
