An automated method of producing photographs requiring two consecutive levels of light intensity, with adjustable exposure times for each level, uses a camera operated light switch to switch off studio ambient light for the period of exposure. A photograph of a person near a terminal with "live" data displayed on the screen (as required for publications or brochures) requires an initial short bright exposure with electronic flash in order to light the person and the terminal, followed by a long time exposure in order to register the weak light from the image on the display screen.
