Current PC communication systems do not have the ability to remove or view status of the current adjacent links. In accordance with the new method, a menu system gives the user a view of the active adjacent links and the ability to deactivate an adjacent link without taking down the data link. This will enable the performance and configuration of the system to be changed by use of the Subsystem Management. The Adjacent Link Station (ALS) Operations Panel is shown in the figure. The panel is displayed as the result of the user's choice of Adjacent link station services from the Subsystem Management main panel. The description of the selection fields are as follows: Panel Name: RSMALSM Panel Size: 24 rows x 80 columns at 0.0 The Adjacent link station operations consist of two selection fields.
