A method is described for providing a high-function interface and single control point to applications using OPERATING SYSTEM/2 DIALOG MANAGER (DM). PC DIALOG PANEL SERVICES Panel Services provides, on the application side of DM dialogs, an application program with concise compile- time macros to correctly use DM Services without extensive execution debug time. The protocols to DM will have been tested during unit test phase of Panel Services. No other protocols will be needed or used by the application. These macros are CDPUTPAN, CDPOPPAN and CDPANGEN. The macro CDPANGEN produces the data structures required to VDEFINE panel data when the application invokes Panel Services with either CDPUTPAN or CDPOPPAN which is linked to these data structures through a global pointer named TABXYPTR.
