A method is described which provides screen/cursor control function by pointing with the fingers. In all keyboard/display oriented products on the market today a mechanism must be provided for controlling cursor position on the screen. Many devices exist for this purpose, including the following: cursor control keys, light pens, tablets and mouse devices. All of these devices have one or more limitations, such as: (Image Omitted) 1. High cost 2. External cables/devices which are mechanical (i.e., potentially unreliable) and which require space in the work area. 3. Undesirable human factors, such as arm position when using a light pen. These characteristics limit the application of these devices especially for untrained operators, e.g., elementary school students.
