Abstract

A system for converting X-Y coordinate data into real time images which can be merged and processed with other real time images and used in an image processing system is disclosed and generally comprises: means for receiving starting and stopping coordinates for the generation of a point or line, means for generating a point or line with individual X-Y point coordinates from the received starting and stopping coordinates, a FIFO for receiving the generated point coordinates and for outputting the generated points in a first-in, first-out (FIFO) order in coordination with a time clock counter means, a time clock counter means for coordinating the system for converting the X-Y coordinate data into real time images with the image processing system by counting a clock of the image processing system and associating the clock count with an X-Y coordinate location according to the image width, a matching means for determining when the X-Y point coordinate at the FIFO output is equivalent to the clock count counted by the time clock counter means, and for generating and sending a one-valued pixel onto the image processing system bus when such equivalency is obtained, and a zero-valued pixel otherwise.
