When maintaining a library of image files it is often useful to display a directory of those image files, just as it is desirable to display directories of any other types of file. Traditionally, operating systems will provide a function to display a list of file names which must conform to fairly rigid guidelines (i.e., they must start with a letter and contain no more than eight characters, etc.). While this may be sufficient in many cases, it places a burden on the user to remember what image each file name represents. A useful way to provide a directory of image files is to display a reduced version of each image that meets the user's specification. This directory displays 25 images on a single device.
