This article describes a plastic cable retractor which has all necessary features molded integrally into it. The retractor disclosed herein is made of fire-resistant polypropylene and is adapted for use with a direct access storage device (DASD) file mounting drawer which holds four devices. The drawer is mounted on a telescoping slide to allow customer access from the rear. (Image Omitted) In the drawings, Fig. 1 is perspective view of the DASD file drawer showing the cable retractor in retracted position. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the retractor showing flat cable and discreet cable running through it and being held in place by means of cable clamps. Figs. 3 and 4 are detail views of the retractor showing specific features. The retractor is comprised of leaf sections connected together by integrally molded hinges.
