This invention is a method of attaching a head bar assembly to an arm which is a part of a disk file actuator. A head bar assembly consists of a head bar with one or two head-suspension assemblies attached to it. The head bar is crimped onto the arm. The arm 10 may be cast or machined aluminum or magnesium. It has a groove in each side as shown in the figure. Also, there are two deeper recesses 16 in the bottom of each groove. The head bar 14 is of the same material as the arm. This will result in both parts expanding and contracting the same amount as temperature changes occur. The head bar 14 slides onto the end of the arm 10. The head bar is held in the proper position relative to the arm.
