Internal/External Audio Control Assembly for Personal Computers

A technique is described whereby a removable audio control unit is provided for personal computers (PCs), enabling the operator to utilize the audio unit as an integral part of the PC or as a remote unit. (Image Omitted) Audio control assembly 10, as shown in Fig. 1, is designed so as to slide into front bezel 11 of the PC. Cable 12 is plugged into internal control circuits to enable audio control assembly 10 to function as a record and playback unit, either as an internal part of the PC or as a remote unit, at the option of the operator. Audio control assembly 10 consists of base unit 13, as shown in Fig. 2, top cover 14 and subassembly 15. Base unit 13 is equipped with slide rails, at each side, to facilitate ease of insertion into bezel 11 of the PC.
