A connector block is positively retained in its installed position but remains conveniently releasable when held by a pivotable and resilient wire bail. In the figures, cable termination or circuit card connector 1 can be held against its mating base 2 by loop 3. The loop is formed as a bail of resilient wire having right angle tabs 4 each inserted in a respective hole on either side of base 2 to permit yieldable pivoting over connector 1. The top portion of the wire bail may be offset at 5 to apply the coupling force at the optimum location. This arrangement is also effective when retaining a stack of multiple bases or connectors.
