Abstract

This copier air supply system uses one air pump to supply air to both the copier's positive pressure air-using devices and to the copier's negative pressure air using devices. A pneumatic resistor (i.e., an airflow path of controlled flow restriction) is shunted around the pump, from output to input, when the copier is used at a low altitude. In this way, the system's low altitude pressure vs. quantity operating point, and its high altitude operating point are controlled to be substantially the same. (Image Omitted) Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the copier's airflow system. In this system, pump 10 has its input end 11 connected to the copier's multiple vacuum-using devices 12 (represented by a single pneumatic resistor), and has its output end 13 connected to the copier's multiple positive pressure-using devices 14.
