Defining PUT Select Actions for Dialogs

A method is described to allow an application/dialog developer or user to alter the appearance of an application screen by choosing the information most useful to them and displaying the information in the desired portion of the screen. An application's requirements are such that a particular division of the screen (pane) will contain one of several display templates. Which template is presented in the pane at any given time is determined by selections made by the user during application execution. For example, suppose an application's dialog definitions include three display templates as shown in Fig. 1. One contains New York office information, another San Francisco information and a third Chicago information. Each of the three is to be presented in the same pane.
