Abstract

This article describes a versatile method, to control large quantities of numbered items entering an environmental test chamber in batches. The chamber control records failure-items by their known position in the chamber and will identify any failed item after the batches have been removed and stored. (Image Omitted) Instead of reading and tracking the ID of every item on input, only a few readings of the pallet, rack, level and chamber are made by bar code at the time of output. Later when output is demanded from the system, it identifies error cards by their position in the batch. Batches of different products may be passed through the chamber in random order without confusion of identity. It significantly reduces manufacturing effort and resource.
