Abstract

Conducted noise specifications and measurement procedures to evaluate conducted noise from power supplies or power systems have been established for data processing equipment by international law. Although measurement receiver calibration can generally be verified by narrowband signal substitution and the measurement LISN in a fixed configuration, there are many other parameters of the measurement system that can introduce errors. A conducted noise generator that can be used as a standard for a measurement of system calibration and verification is described in the following. (Image Omitted) The calibrator uses a very fast impulse generator to produce a pulse that will generate uniform spectral lines from a relatively low frequency to that well above the frequency range of interest.
